Banner
Maker Pro for Flash uses the True-Type
fonts that are currently installed on
your computer. If you want to add more
fonts, you just add more fonts to your
computer. It's easy to do and there are
several web sites devoted to fonts. See
our Banner
Resources page for details.
How can I add additional
background images?
To add your own backgrounds to the list
of backgrounds that appears on the
backgrounds page, copy your backgrounds
to the backgrounds directory specified
in the Options. (The default directory
is C:\Program Files\Banner Maker Pro for
Flash\backgrounds.) The new backgrounds
will appear in the list after the
program has been re-started. The same
process can be used to add your own
images to the images directory.
How can I add my company logo,
digital photo
or other image?
Simply go to the Images tab, and click
on Add Image. The image can be resized and made partially transparent.
When I go to view
the Preview in the web browser, I get a
message that says "To help protect your
security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active
content that could access your computer.
To view your animation,
click on the text and choose "Allow
Blocked Content...". This will allow you
to view the animation.
If you click on the
animation, you will then get the
Macromedia Flash Player Player warning
that the banner is trying to communicate
with the Internet-emailed location: that
is the website associated with the
banner.
Click OK to go to the
website. To prevent this message from
appearing on each preview, go to
Settings. Click on Edit Locations and
chose Add Locations. In the Trust This
Location dialog, add 'C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Banner Maker Pro for Flash'. You
may have to reboot for the options to
take affect.

How do I add the saved flash
file to my web page?
The flash
file (.swf extension) is added to a
website by a small section of HTML code.
Most web editors, such as MS FrontPage
have a command to add a flash banner by
a Add Flash Movie or Insert Flash File
command. You will first need to move
your flash file to your web server.
Banner Maker Pro for Flash can also
create the html code on the "Create HTML
Link Code" on the Save tab. Click
on the Instructions tab on the Create
HTML Code for more instructions on
creating the HTML code. Also, there is a
tutorial for MS FrontPage here:
http://www.bannermakerproforflash.com/tutorial-frontpage.html
Note:
Adding a flash file (swf) is not the
same as adding a image (gif or jpeg) to
a webpage. The html code is different.
If you
are having trouble adding the flash file
to your website, you can try using
photobucket.com to host your files.
It is very easy to upload your files to
photobucket.com, and then you can use
the Create HTML Code to place the image
on your website.
Do you have any
tutorials?
Yes. Tutorials can be
found here.
Where can I store my
images if I do not have a website?
There are several
free websites that will store images for you.
One of the most popular sites for flash
is
www.photobucket.com
Photobucket.com is very useful if you
are having trouble getting the images to
your website or if you do not have a
website where you can put your images.
I want to animated
one line of text, but not another line
of text. How do I do that?
To prevent a shape,
image or text from being animated,
uncheck the "Add Text/Shape/Image to
Animation" on the tab for the object.
First, click on the object to select it.
Then uncheck the box on the correct tab
(Image, Text or Shape tab). This will
prevent the object from being part of
the animation.
When I add my flash
banner to my website, I get this message
"press spacebar or enter to activate and
use this control" and it requires two
clicks to go to the link instead of one.
Why is this?
Due to a patent
dispute between Microsoft and Eolas,
Microsoft had to modify its browser (IE6
with the 912945 security patch and IE7)
to require the user to "activate" the
control before the user could use (or
click) on the object. This problem
affects flash, java, quicktime, and
realplayer files.
Fortunately, there is
a way around this, which involves a
small html code change and placing a
small JavaScript file in the same
directory as your html. Version 2.02 of
Banner Maker Pro for Flash automatically
creates the correct html code and
JavaScript file.

When I add my
text and animate it, it becomes off
center. How do I fix this?
If you are using
Letter Spacing greater than 0 on the
Text menu and animate the text, BMP for
Flash will add spaces to the end to make
sure that letters are not cut off, which
could cause the text to moved. (For
example, the text would spin slightly
off center or the text effect would be
in a slightly different spot from where
the text was added.) To fix this, add
spaces (' ') around the beginning and
end of the text and then animate.
My text is getting
cut off on the right hand side when the
text is animated. How do I fix this?
If you are using large
text and/or spacing the letters far
apart, the animation may have trouble
sizing the text properly and the text
can get cut off. To fix this, add spaces
(' ') to the beginning and end of the
line of text. Preview the animation and
add spaces as needed.
"How do I save
my images to photobucket.com?"
1. Save your image in
Banner Maker Pro.
2. Go to
photobucket.com and create an account if
you do not have one.
3. Click on Browse,
and select the image that you just
saved. The default directory for saving
files is
c:\program files\banner maker pro
for flash.
4. Click on upload to
load your image into photobucket.com.
The image is now on
photobucket.com. If you are placing the
image on your website, continue with the
remaining steps.
5. Right click on the
URL Link and choose Copy.
6. Go back to Banner
Maker Pro for Flash and choose Create
HTML Link Code.
7. In the Image
location and/or directory edit box,
right click and choose Paste to place
the link from photobucket.com.
8. Click "Create HTML
Code" to create the html code for your
website.
9. Copy and paste this
code to your website.
The security
settings on my computer will not let me
download the software. What do I do?
If you are getting an
unknown publisher or no digital
signature found message, save the
installation program to your desktop and
then run the install program by clicking
on the icon.
When I click
on Preview on the Save Tab and then
click on the banner in the web browser
and it doesn't work. Why?
Security settings for
the Adobe Flash Player may be preventing
a link from a local file (the preview
image) from linking to the internet. You
can change the security settings on
Adobe Flash Player by Ctrl + clicking on
the image.
This issue does not
appear when you copy the banner to your
website.
